if someone would have told the 19 year old me while at the darkest hour/drowningman/since by man show at the che cafe in san diego, that seven years in the future i'd be living in milwaukee, getting my second since by man related tattoo, and witnessing their last ever show, i certainly would have been a little skeptical. who knew that one show could change my life in so many ways. 2001 was the first time i ever saw sbm play and it also marks the beginning of a long and fruitful friendship. so many of my fondest memories, dearest friends and best adventures are all based on having met them. i could probably fill a book with all the sbm related connections and happenings that have changed my life in some way.
this weekend marked the end of an era for many of us. friends from all over flew into town to bare witness to what will go down in history as the best milwaukee weekend ever. for 10 of us, this past weekend will forever remain with us physically. in appropriate milwaukee fashion, an impromptu tattoo session was had, leaving the letters "LTD" on various parts of our bodies. while there were many friends that weren't able to join in for one reason or another, we will all continue living the dream.
