To Los Angeles, with Love

Your levitating palm trees imported from Latin America never cease to mesmerize, while your vanishing coastline rivals the wonders of the world. You are a beautiful oasis set amongst a desert of sour soil where magnificent buildings are carved into your mighty mountains as black tar thrusts above your earth of impulsive geological faults that welcome an incessant silver sea of smoking metal machines glittering beneath your fervent southwestern sun. Your distant motherlands are right at home, hustling and bustling with sounds, smells and stories from merchants and their past lives. The lost seek your wisdom and the cold masses crawl into your warm bosom night after night while ghosts sleep atop shimmering streets on concrete beds they call home. You are a city inhabited by nine million confused angels all pushing and pulling. Bode well my friend, I'll be home soon.
